Chamber Members Learn Cyber Security Tips at Monthly Breakfast Meeting

Tyrone Chamber members gathered at The Bull Pen for their monthly breakfast meeting on Thursday morning, where they were educated on the importance of cyber security by Joe Harford, founder and president of Reclamere in Tyrone.

He stressed that cyber security threats are real and happening in the local community, with cyber attacks regularly seeking valuable personal information such as names, dates of birth, and social security numbers.

According to Harford, organizations with 25 employees or less are at a higher risk of going out of business following a cyber attack, with many having outdated and unprotected equipment. He highlighted the importance of secure passwords and using password managers to store them properly, as well as the need for increased awareness and vigilance when it comes to online activities.

Chamber Director Rose Black invited Harford to speak after the Chamber website was hacked, underscoring the need for caution and preparedness in the face of cyber threats.
